The New Rochelle Day Nursery (NRDN) was founded in 1895. We are a private not-for-profit day care center. The NRDN has remained committed to providing quality education at affordable rates to our children and families. Our accomplished educators have an average of fifteen to twenty plus years of experience working with young children. This extensive knowledge and experience helps promote and foster academic and social growth through every developmental stage. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, fosters emotional growth, and builds child confidence. Our long standing in the community has allowed us to develop strong relationships with Westchester organizations and agencies, and helps us provide educational and financial resources to families.
The New Rochelle Day Nursery serves children aged 18 months through 5 years in eight spacious, well-e uipped, air-conditioned classrooms. It is housed in a large building that was designed specifically for early childhood education and that is dedicated to this purpose.
Each classroom is managed by a teacher and teacher assistant and contains books, software, teaching manipulatives and toys, as well as cots for naptime.
In addition to its large indoor space, the Nursery provides age appropriate equipment in a secure outdoor playground with covered porch that allows for outside play even in inclement weather.
A chef and chef assistant provide a healthy breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snack in a professionally designed cafeteria where family style dining and social skills are modeled.
The hours of operation are weekdays from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 51 weeks a year. The Nursery is closed the last week of August.
